AutumnsList Latest Site News
Well, AutumnsList has come a long way since it started out as a hobby of mine! It's getting big enough that I made this page just to keep track and update everyone of things done and things to come.
This page may become a little cluttered and messy and I will try to clean it up from time to time, but it is here just to keep everyone up to date.

I have already let community members in the past vote on things we have added to the site, such as to add the "Latest Profile Views" app or not. I set up a poll and let the community decide and that worked out great.
This is how I would like AutumnsList to always be!
If we think a site design should be done, we want you to help decide, actually let me re-phrase that, we want You To Decide, period.
I will be setting up a specific page (Group Page) soon just for this purpose and will list it under the Help menu. I will post a link to it here once that is completed. Please be sure to use the link I post, as I am sure somebody will eventually make a fake group to try and fool people (note: we will delete any groups like this and ban you forever, sorry, but defrauding people will not be tolerated at all)
If there are any polls for you to vote on you will find them there.

My latest concerns are all about your privacy. ** I believe I have addressed all of these issues for now, but may enhance the privacy features in the future to give you even more control. **
So many websites have a ton of privacy settings, but are just so ridiculous to figure out that they mind as well not be there! I've been on some sites (i'm sure you know the ones I'm talking about) that will lead you through a labyrinth of settings spread across 4 pages of different settings! And most of the settings have a Very brief explanation or just a Title with a check box to tick off. Now I consider myself to be pretty good at this web site stuff, so when I'm sitting here scratching my head wondering what this privacy setting is for, I could just imagine what the person is thinking that is, how should I say, less computer savy as I am! So what have we done? Well for starters I have made a nice little guide to help you set up your privacy settings. You can find this in the left hand menu on various pages under the menu "Getting Started" Under that menu you will find more valuable links, one of which is called "Getting Started Tips".
Here I created a guide to the privacy settings on AutumnsList in an attempt to be sure you are not confused. And as time goes on (and I get some extra time) I will refine these to make them as easy to understand as possible.
A little bit of history:
Just a brief description of things we use for the site. AutumnsList is not comprised of just one type of program or application. I didn't just grab any old program off the Internet either. I took quite a long time looking for certain types of components and Read More...
So let's begin with what I have already added to the AutumnsList Platform:
Privacy Settings: As of 2011-04-08 you can now set privacy settings for each all of your profile features, photo albums, videos, etc. Simply click on the little lock icon
next to each setting to enable it. You can set it to Public, Site Members, Friends or Only Me. And as always, your profile is set to Private when you first join, so now you can easily choose which aspects of your profile page you want to show. Also note that there are additional privacy settings for each application you show on your profile page, just visit the application page and click on the lock icon 
next to each application.
- A friends networking platform complete with photo uploads and video linking to the most popular video sites on the Internet.
- Create your own personal groups.
- User advertising platform (Create and manage your own ad campaign,
possibly we will implement a feature that will allow you to use your Karma points to buy ad space. This feature is now implemented, see below.)
- Place all of your classified Ads on AutumnsList Classifieds. (Now fully integrated with members profiles and news stream)
- Let others know you have an event coming up with our Event planner. This can be used for regular events or make an event for your group. You can now add events right from your profile news stream.
- Easily invite your friends with a simple email to them. Open Inviter added, see below.
- Lots of Games for you to play and more to come, see notes below *.
- Create an Event for your wedding, birthdays, business adventure, etc. (now with added features)
- Plus many other features.

Recently Added Features:
- Forums (complete with an application that lets you add a list of your forum updates to your profile page)
- Link Directory is now complete. This allows everyone to list their website in our vast directory and it's very easy to use, just follow the directions.
- Use your Karma Points for Social Ads or pay with PayPal.
- Viral Open Inviter - Invite your friends from your favorite email site (like gmail or yahoo) or your favorite social network. Takes only a few minutes and you get to select which friends to add. (Note: we had to disable this, because it was just too unstable. We will hopefully rebuild this to work properly in the future)
- More Games - I have just added a couple more cool games like Pac-Man. Will be adding to that list again shortly. (If you have any games please see the notes below *)

Here are some things we plan on adding in the near future:
- Privacy settings -
we are working on advanced privacy settings for each thing you share on AutumnsList, like albums, videos, etc. This will allow you to control your data better.(Completed) - User Blogging - create and manage your own blog, which of course will be linked to your profile and news feeds. (This may not be able to be implemented until we raise funds for better servers)
- More Games (read note below*)
- More Countries - Adding more Countries to the Classifieds section. (slowly, but surely will get this done. takes a lot of hours to research and implement)
- Mobile Apps - I've been working on some mobile applications for popular phones. The first version will most likely be a simple app that will give you some news feeds and helpful links to popular pages on AutumnsList. Future apps will be more interactive and let you quickly update your status or upload pictures, etc. If you would like help us develop some apps please drop me an email. I could use all the help I can get.
- Music - You will be able to upload music and create a playlist for your friends to use when they visit your profile page. Maybe have it linked to a music store for legal downloads, maybe. I say maybe, because getting companies to follow strict privacy policies will be a challenge, but if it can be done then we will do it.
- Video Uploads - Right now we are only letting everyone connect to other video websites. When we move to better servers we may include video uploads. This is already in place, but do to our slower servers right now it just isn't possible to enable it
. - GeoTagging - Looking into some non-privacy breaking applications that would let YOU choose to add your location just by clicking on a map.
- Banner Advertisments -
We will eventually let you place adds in the footer (banner style) and other places.This will be part of the advertisement platform you already use on the site. Completed. We will be adding other places across the site too. **See more info about advertising on AutumnsList below.
* Games - Once our user base has grown we will be able to provide you with more popular games you are used to playing, so the quicker you help us grow the faster we will have greater games and applications for you to use. So let your friends know about AutumnsList and we will grow faster than any site out there!
If you have quality games that Do Not use a ton of bandwidth (less than a Mb) and would like to work with us, then all you have to do is drop us an email.
** Advertising - AutumnsList was made for the community, so the advertisements will also be made by the community. Any time you see the words Advertisement heading, that is an ad by a community user. Any time you see it have a title "Sponsor", then you are seeing an ad by Us. These ads are hand picked by us, not some automatic advertising company. These are the only types of ads we allow. All ads will be checked and if they pass our guidelines, then and only then will they be enabled on the site. If they are edited after they were created then they will be checked again!
