How to do the audio?
EcoSquid.com offers a recycling program for old computers. Users enter information about the old computer they want to recycle. Local companies and recycling center results appear in a window. Users can choose which recycling program they wish to use and learn more about the details of recycling. In some cases, recycling programs donate old computers to local or national organizations for reuse. If the computer is not in working order, it can still be used for parts.
Buying a computer shouldn't be a big hassle. Here are some simple things to remember when buying a computer.
1. What do you need the computer for? If it's basic stuff like surfing the web or using a word program, then almost any off the shelf computer will do, but if you plan on converting video files, heavy gaming or doing a lot of image processing with large file sizes, then you need to have a faster computer.
Some things you should look for are: faster CPU, larger cache size and how fast the hard drive spins (RPM's). If you are rendering video I recommend a CPU with atleast 2 cores, 2mb for the cache size and a hard drive that spins at 7200 RPM's (note: that larger 500 GB & above may only spin at 5400 RPM's due to heat problems).
2. Other things to consider would be the Graphic Card. Most off the shelf computer don't come with a high graphics card, so if you are using the computer for graphic arts or serious gaming you should make sure the computer will have an internal video slot.
3. Having a easy way to read your camera's SD card (or whatever card is uses) is a very nice feature too.
These are the basics, so the first thing you should ask yourself is "What am I going to be using the computer for?". From there you can begin your search.
